AGT Adventure - Traveling Home

We drove through the night and it took us 10.5 hours to get home. We arrived in Provo, Utah at 7:30am. Dropped Christina off and the rest of the group went up to Orem, Utah. Tanya and Tiffany then dropped the van off at the rental place and we all enjoyed some much-needed sleep in our own, cozy beds. :)

AGT Adventure - Touring LA and Getting Ready for our Audition

Hello from Los Angeles!

This morning we practiced “Beyond the Sea”, “One World”, and “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” (just in case we needed a third song) in the hotel for several hours.

We went to the LA Convention Center so that we would know how to get there for our audition on Tuesday and then we went to lunch.

The rest of the day was spent touring Hollywood and celebrating Mom’s birthday! We stopped at several of our favorite stars on The Hollywood Walk of Stars and visited Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and enjoyed looking at all the hand and footprints there.

We even went to the Hollywood Bowl and practiced “Beyond the Sea” and “One World” in that beautiful outdoor amphitheater. We felt a bit like the Von Trapp children in “The Sound of Music” when they practice their songs outside before their big concert. :)

We drove down Sunset Blvd just as the sun was setting and then proceeded to get lost trying to find our way out of Beverly Hills.

Tiffany and Natalie went swimming for a little while when we got back to the hotel. The rest of us ordered pizza and watched the news. We tried to get to bed before midnight so we could get a little bit of rest before our big day.

AGT Adventure - Traveling to LA

Today we left Utah and traveled 12 hours to Los Angeles, California. Dad packed up the van in Orem and Mom and most of the sisters got everything ready to go. Christina helped Keith get their kids ready for Church and waited for everyone else to arrive in Provo. 

We said tearful goodbyes to our families and left just after noon. It was a very long drive but we enjoyed talking and singing together. Christina and Tanya took turns driving the minivan.

We stopped several times along the way to: eat a picnic lunch at a park, fill up Mom’s ice cooler to keep her knee nice and cold, eat at Tami’s favorite “Jack in the Box”, fill the van up with gas, and of course, the obligatory bathroom breaks.We were all very glad to arrive at our hotel safely on Sunday night!

"One World" CD Cover is Done

Tomorrow we leave for Los Angeles! We're taking our "One World" recording to give to the judges and finished the CD cover just in time:

Music Video Recording of "One World"

A cold, wet, wonderful day.

We recorded our very first music video!!! The song is, "One World". We made our own costumes and think they reflect the light, ethereal, celtic image we were going for.

We enjoyed working with our awesome videographer, Michael Burton. He was very patient with us and worked hard to get some great shots, even after falling through the frozen lake!

Our favorite part of the experience was being together as sisters and doing something we love.

Our Recording of "One World" is Done!

Recording the Music Track for "One World"

Tiffany bought the sheet music for "One World", arranged our parts, and emailed each of us with our part this past Sunday. She's going to school at BYU-Idaho, so she made the 4-hour drive to Utah yesterday so we could rehearse together for the first time.

Today we recorded the music track! Our awesome friend John Sergeant accompanied us.

For those of you doing the math, yep, we had 4 days to learn the song, 1 day of practicing together, and then we recorded it! Haha! Tiffany arranged it, sang it with us, and also played her cello for the recording. THAT is talent, folks.

We leave to pick up the finished recording in a few hours; can't wait to hear how it sounds!

Preparing to Record "One World" - Costume-Making

We listened to many different Celtic songs and went with Celtic Woman’s “One World” because it’s a very powerful song about people working together to create a better world for everyone.

We wanted ethereal costumes to reflect the mood of our song and found a pattern for Celtic/Medieval dresses that was simple, modest, and beautiful. The most difficult part of that process was finding different colors that we all liked and that looked nice altogether!

We bought the material and spent the weekend cutting out our patterns and watching movies together. Mom and Christina sewed our dresses this weekend because Mom has knee surgery scheduled for Tuesday.
