Epic Adventure: The Big Reveal
We're having an incredible weekend filming "Lament of the Highborne"!!! It's a song from Blizzard's World of Warcraft online game. We recorded the song last March and have spent months preparing to shoot the music video.
Here's the story behind Natalie's character, Sylvanas Windrunner. It's quite sad. Her eldest sister, Alleria Windrunner, is played by Tanya; youngest sister Vereesa Windrunner is played by Tiffany. We made our own interpretation of the story and added the Mother Windrunner character, played by Christina.
Here's the link to the original song/video by Blizzard: Lament of the Highborne
We've got an amazing group of people here at the Cabin: Mom and Dad, Keith and Christina (and their 4 children), Tanya, Tiffany, Natalie, Samuel Gale-Hess (our sweet cousin), Michael Coones (our friend and awesome videographer/producer), Tiffanie and Alvaro Zilleruelo (Tiffanie is doing a fantastic job with our hair and makeup), and Doug (who made Natalie's stunning bow).
We plan to submit our music video to Blizzard (the company behind World of Warcraft). Wahoo!
Here are a few teasers of our favorite shots from this weekend. We'll post more next week.

Recording "Lament of the Highborne", from World of Warcraft
Those of you who know our family, know that we're kind of nerdy. A lot of time we spend our nights together playing World of Warcraft (WoW), an online computer role-playing game. We love the haunting "Lament of the Highborne" song from WoW and thought it would be amazing to record it.
We bought the sheet music, arranged the parts, and recorded it with the help of our friend, the talented Sylvia Muhlstein, on St. Patrick's Day. John Sergeant did an incredible job accompanying us.
John Sergeant, Tanya Gale, Tiffany Gale, Natalie Gale, Michelle Bate, Tamara Gale McKay, Christina Gale Borrowman, and Sylvia Muhlestein:
Natalie did a wonderful job with the main part (Sylvanas); the rest of us had fun as the chorus (banshees):
Looking forward to the final recording!

Recording "Consider the Lilies" at the Hoffman House
Today we recorded,"Consider the Lilies". It's a beautiful song with incredible lyrics. It was written by Roger Hoffman and we had the privilege of recording it in his studio. Our awesome pianist John Sergeant arranged it into 5 parts for us and accompanied us for the recording.
A huge thank you to Roger for your amazing song and the experience of recording with you again. And another huge thank you to John for your hard work and happy countenance during long recordings.

Recording "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"
Today we recorded "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" to send to America's Got Talent. One of our goals is to sing so well that we make our Mom cry with joy.
We made Mom cry, so we're happy with how it turned out. :)

AGT Adventure - Traveling to LA
Today we left Utah and traveled 12 hours to
Los Angeles, California. Dad packed up the van in Orem and Mom and most of the
sisters got everything ready to go. Christina helped Keith get their kids ready
for Church and waited for everyone else to arrive in Provo.
We said tearful goodbyes to our families and left just after
noon. It was a very long drive but we enjoyed talking and singing together.
Christina and Tanya took turns driving the minivan.
We stopped several times along the way to: eat a picnic
lunch at a park, fill up Mom’s ice cooler to keep her knee nice and cold, eat
at Tami’s favorite “Jack in the Box”, fill the van up with gas, and of course,
the obligatory bathroom breaks. We were all very glad to arrive at our hotel
safely on Sunday night!
Poor Tanya; her fruit snacks melted:

Music Video Recording of "One World"
A cold, wet, wonderful day.
We recorded our very first music video!!! The song is, "One World". We made our own costumes and think they reflect the light, ethereal, celtic image we were going for.
We enjoyed working with our awesome videographer, Michael Burton. He was very patient with us and worked hard to get some great shots, even after falling through the frozen lake!
Our favorite part of the experience was being together as sisters and doing something we love.

Recording the Music Track for "One World"
Tiffany bought the sheet music for "One World", arranged our parts, and emailed each of us with our part this past Sunday. She's going to school at BYU-Idaho, so she made the 4-hour drive to Utah yesterday so we could rehearse together for the first time.
Today we recorded the music track! Our awesome friend John Sergeant accompanied us.
For those of you doing the math, yep, we had 4 days to learn the song, 1 day of practicing together, and then we recorded it! Haha! Tiffany arranged it, sang it with us, and also played her cello for the recording. THAT is talent, folks.
We leave to pick up the finished recording in a few hours; can't wait to hear how it sounds!

Creating GaleSong
Earlier this month, Mom was reading the news and came
across an NBC page that talked about the “America’s Got Talent” auditions. She
thought about us and wondered if we might be interested in trying out for
something like this. We all agreed that it would be a wonderful opportunity for
us to improve our singing and have fun spending time together as sisters.
We had our first official meeting today
to decide: our goals, our dreams, which roles each of us would play in our
group, the name of our group, which song we should record first, and what to do
about costuming.
Originally, we wanted our group name to be “NightinGales”
because it’s a play on our last name (Gale) and the songbird that sings at
night (we love to stay up late!) We quickly discovered, however, that there was
already a group with the name we liked so we decided on “GaleSong”; still a
play on our last name, and the fact that we like music.
A few of our costume ideas:
